The Software Development Manager – Java will lead a team of engineers in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade applications using Java technologies. This role combines technical leadership with people management, ensuring high-quality deliverables and fostering innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership:
- Manage and mentor a team of Java developers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide career development guidance.
- Project Delivery:
- Oversee end-to-end software development lifecycle for Java-based applications.
- Ensure timely delivery of projects while maintaining quality and scalability.
- Technical Oversight:
- Define and enforce coding standards, best practices, and architectural guidelines.
- Drive adoption of modern Java frameworks (Spring Boot, Hibernate) and microservices architecture.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with Product Management, QA, and DevOps teams to align technical solutions with business goals.
- Innovation & Optimization:
- Evaluate emerging technologies and tools to improve development efficiency.
- Optimize application performance and scalability.
Required Qualifications
- Experience:
- 8+ years in software development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong expertise in Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
Nice-to-Have
- Exposure to distributed systems and high-availability architectures.
- Familiarity with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
- Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
