Job Summary:


Nationwide Marketing Group (NMG) is seeking a Software Developer II to join our Product Data Management & Operations team. This mid-level, individual contributor role focuses on building and supporting scalable tools, data pipelines, and technical platforms that power internal systems and partner-facing solutions.In this role, the Software Developer II works across Java-based backend systems, cloud-native environments (AWS and GCP), and modern data workflows. The position partners closely with Product Owners, Data, QA, and Infrastructure teams to design, build, and evolve solutions that improve data quality, operational efficiency, and delivery velocity. 

Job Responsibilities:


Software Development & Architecture


  • Designs, develops, and maintains clean, scalable, and maintainable backend services using Java.
  • Builds and supports data pipelines, integrations, and technical data flows across internal and external platforms.
  • Designs and implements efficient database schemas and server-side logic using SQL and relational databases.
  • Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves performance, reliability, and scalability issues.
  • Implements security, data protection, and compliance best practices across applications.

Cloud, Data, & Platform Enablement


  • Develops and supports services deployed across AWS and GCP environments.
  • Contributes to CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and infrastructure collaboration.
  • Assists in the design and implementation of data-driven and AI/ML-enabled workflows where applicable.

Collaboration & Delivery


  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams including Product, QA, Infrastructure, and Engineering to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
  • Partners with internal departments and external partners using NMG platforms.
  • Creates and presents technical designs, demos, and proofs of concept to refine requirements and solutions.
  • Maintains clear and thorough technical documentation, including design specifications and implementation details.

Continuous Improvement


  • Identifies opportunities to simplify designs, improve processes, and automate workflows to increase team efficiency.
  • Stays current with emerging technologies in Java, cloud platforms, data engineering, and AI/ML, sharing insights with the team.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of professional software development or data engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience or interest in AI/ML-enabled solutions is a strong plus.

  • Strong proficiency in Java (11, 17, or 21), including JUnit, Maven, Git, and Hibernate.
  • Experience building RESTful APIs and working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services, including S3, SES, SQS, and SNS.
  • Experience working in cloud environments, including GCP.
  • Familiarity with ORM frameworks such as JPA/Hibernate.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and Agile development practices.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
  • Experience implementing observability practices, including logging, metrics, and tracing.
  • Spring Core & Spring Boot, GraphQL, Google Cloud Platform, CI/CD pipelines (Github Actions)
  • Exposure to or experience with AI/ML tools or data-driven systems.
  • Experience supporting internal tools, operational platforms, or data-centric systems.

Work Environment:


Must be able to read, write, and communicate both verbally and in written form to express and exchange ideas. While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee must be able to access all components of the workstation and other office equipment. Frequent typing, writing, bending, and twisting. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds. General office environment with moderate noise. This position is mostly sedentary, involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.

A busy environment with many unscheduled interruptions. Frequent computer use at workstation for extended periods of time. Public contact position requiring appropriate business apparel.**Applications will be reviewed until the position is closed** 85000.00 To 95000.00 (USD) Annually
