Our expertise encompasses the full spectrum of system technologies from pneumatic - hydraulic control systems to state-of-the-art programmable solutions to chemical injection systems, and everything in-between.As a Journeyman Electrician you will plan layouts, install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment for commercial buildings.Requirements
- Performs installation, alterations, additions and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors and associated materials and equipment.
- Possess and maintain required personal tools at all times.
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
- Responsible for securing tools and materials from storage areas to complete their assigned tasks.
- Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
- Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
- Meets attendance standards and complies with late/absence notification procedures.
- Place conduit (pipes or tubing) inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.
- Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit and moving and lifting heavy objects.
- Provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services.
- Read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, specifications, work site directions, blueprints and written instruction.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Have the ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings.
- Be familiar with electrical tools, wire types, sizing and wire connector types.
- Work well with others and be able to work alone on tasks that require only one person.
- Understand how to read and translate the information found within all schematic wiring P&ID’s process diagrams and experience with applicable codes and standards
- Proven organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills required.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proven problem solver, results focused, self-motivated.
- Ability to work at heights.
- Must be able to work under pressure.
Required Experience & Education
- 1-3 years of experience within the Industrial Field.
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
- Experience in energy, industrial, or construction environments highly preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to reach with arms and use tools above/over the head.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements.
- Ability to stand (for extended periods of time), walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl and twist.
- Ability to sit, balance and climb ladders, scaffolds and other objects.
- Ability to move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areas.
- Ability to distinguish colors.
