Position Overview
The Shipping & Receiving Lead is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations focused on the accurate, efficient movement of inbound and outbound materials. This role ensures adherence to shipping/receiving procedures, maintains inventory accuracy, supports operational safety, and leads team members in executing workflow priorities. The Shipping & Receiving Lead works closely with logistics, procurement, operations, and customer service teams to maintain smooth supply chain processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee preparation, packaging, and documentation of outbound shipments.
- Verify that shipments meet customer requirements, internal standards, and carrier specifications.
- Print shipping labels for UPS & arrange for LTL transportation.
- Verify shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and quality requirements.
- Understand and report discrepancies, damages, or shortages promptly and coordinate resolutions.
- Ensure proper use of ERP/WMS systems for receiving, transfers, and shipments.
- Maintain organized records, logs, and documentation required for audits and compliance.
- Ensure shipping and receiving areas comply with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Promote proper use of PPE and safe material-handling procedures.
- Unpack product and assure it is stored in correct location.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred).
- 3–5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations;
- Strong knowledge of logistics, freight carriers, and warehouse processes.
- Must be self-sufficient and able to meet deadlines without supervision.
- Experience with ERP/WMS systems (SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, Epicor, etc.).
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate material-handling equipment safely.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, physical, and background check.
