Program Description
GlobalMed Logistix (GMLx) is hosting a structured summer internship program offering two distinct pathways: a Supply Chain & Operations pathway and Medical Device Sales pathway (hosted by GMLx on behalf of CrossLink Life Sciences).
Applicants must select their preferred pathway during the application process.
This hands-on program is designed to provide students with exposure to the end-to-end surgical ecosystem, with each pathway offering a focused experience aligned to specific career interests. Interns will gain meaningful, real-world experience while supporting active business operations in a fast-paced healthcare environment. While the overall structure, timeline, and expectations of the internship program are consistent across both pathways, the day-to-day experiences, assignments, and projects are tailored to align with each pathway’s specific focus.
Pathway 1: Supply Chain & Operations (GMLx)
This pathway is ideal for students interested in supply chain management, logistics, and healthcare operations. Interns will gain exposure to the full lifecycle of a surgical case, from warehouse logistics and inventory control to OR delivery and post-case returns.
Pathway 2: Medical Device Sales (Hosted by GMLx on behalf of CrossLink Life Sciences)
This pathway is designed for students interested in medical device sales and commercial roles. Interns will gain exposure to the sales side of the surgical ecosystem, including how sales teams partner with operations to support surgeons, hospitals, and healthcare systems.The internship runs for eight weeks, from June 1 through August 31, and follows a structured 35-hour workweek. Interns will be assigned a department-specific project aligned with their selected pathway and will gain hands-on exposure to day-to-day operations.
Each intern will be paired with a dedicated mentor/host to support learning, development, and professional growth throughout the program.At the conclusion of the program, all interns will deliver a final presentation highlighting their project outcomes, key learnings, and overall experience.What You’ll Gain· A full-cycle understanding of how logistics supports surgical cases from warehouse to operating room· Exposure to warehousing, distribution, inventory management, and customer service best practices· Experience with logistics software, inventory systems, and recall/safety protocols· Development of teamwork, communication, and time management skills· Insight into careers in healthcare operations and surgical supply chain management· Exposure to the medical device sales environment and commercial workflows· Insight into how sales teams support surgeons, hospitals, and operating room staff· Understanding of how logistics, inventory, and field sales work together to support cases· Development of professional communication, relationship-building, and time management skills· Visibility into career paths within medical device sales and commercial leadershipProgram Objectives· Learn the fundamentals of medical device sales and customer engagement· Understand the role of sales in supporting surgical outcomes and customer relationships· Observe how sales and operations collaborate to execute time-critical cases· Develop presentation, communication, and professional etiquette skills· Gain confidence articulating insights from both a sales and operational perspective· Support real-time operational workflows and daily logistics activities· Understand the business and patient-care impact of surgical supply chain execution· Develop project management skills through ownership of an operational project· Learn how operations interfaces with sales teams and customer support· Build proficiency in logistics tracking systems and inventory controls· Gain confidence presenting operational insights and project outcomesRequirements
Requirements
· Rising college Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in good academic standing (3.4 GPA or higher)· Ability to commute daily to assigned location (Norcross, Charlotte, or Raleigh)· Available for the full 8-week program· Responsible for own housing, transportation, and meals

Physical Requirements
· Ability to lift 50 lbs and move materials throughout the warehouse· Standing, sitting, lifting, and walking for extended periods· Must be able to safely navigate a warehouse environment
