POSITION SUMMARY


Our team is looking for an energetic and dynamic AX EVA Production Lead who will primarily be responsible for aiding Axiom’s Space Suit team with the build, test, qualification, and launch of EVA hardware. We are looking for an individual with a strong technical background who excels at problem solving. The role requires strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Serves as the primary Production contact for the overall execution of the AxEVA from final design, through build, test, launch, and activation.
  • Identify efficiencies in assembly, integration, and test to support final product delivery on time and in budget.
  • Aids in strategy, infrastructure development, resource planning, and operations in support of the Axiom Suit.
  • Manages lab and production teams’ schedules, escalation of issues, across multiple production functions (manufacturing, assembly, test, etc).
  • Communicates to upper management and other Production leads on the status and impediments for building AxEVA Suit.
  • Generate priority work plans and lead technical conflict resolution
  • Help mature organization through development of standard workflow.
  • Communicating project progress, status, and potential issues to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Implementing and maintaining agile project management methodologies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Perform additional job duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree, and 10 years of similar industry experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • The preferred candidate will have 5+ years’ experience running a high quality, aerospace production facility
  • Experience with building and maintaining spaceflight hardware in a Production environment
  • Experience managing multiple projects in a team environment
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organizational skills
  • Proficient in a variety of project management tools (JIRA, MS Project, etc.) and techniques (agile, waterfall)
  • Track record of delivering outcomes in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
  • Uses good judgement to problem-solve proactively, positively impacting hard challenges
  • Proven to deliver high quality results under tight deadlines

WORK ENVIRONMENT:


Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

Requirements


  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation
  • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones

Physical Requirements


  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time)
  • May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time)
