We are seeking a creative and motivated Interior Design Intern to join our team and contribute to a variety of projects while gaining valuable industry experience. The Interior Design Intern will assist with various aspects of interior design projects, providing support to senior designers and project teams. This role offers an opportunity to apply academic knowledge in a professional setting, engage in hands-on design tasks, and develop a deeper understanding of the interior design process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Support: Assist in developing design concepts and documentation, including creating mood boards, floor plans, furniture layouts, and material palettes.
- Research: Conduct research on interior design trends, materials, furnishings, and finishes to support design development and client presentations.
- Documentation: Help in preparing and organizing project documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and presentation materials.
- Model Making: Support the creation of physical or digital models and renderings to visualize design concepts and client presentations.
- Client Interaction: Participate in client meetings and presentations, providing support in preparing materials and documenting client feedback.
- Site Visits: Assist in site visits to observe existing conditions, assess site constraints, and gather information for design development.
- Project Coordination: Provide administrative support for project tasks, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and taking meeting minutes.
- Learning and Development: Engage in learning opportunities offered by the firm, such as workshops and mentorship sessions, to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Education: Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Skills: Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and AutoCAD. Basic knowledge of 3D modeling and rendering is a plus.
- Creativity: Strong creative skills with a passion for interior design, including an eye for aesthetics, color, and spatial arrangement.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and present ideas clearly.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in design and documentation tasks.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to various tasks and projects.
Salary Range: $20 - $25.
