About the role:
We're excited to continue our growth by adding a Claims Adjuster who will help build out our industry-leading claims program. In this role, you'll play a critical part in creating a world-class claims organization by managing first and third party bodily injury claims and their associated physical damage.We’re a distributed team spread across the US, Chile, and India, with offices in San Francisco, CA, Columbus, OH, New York, NY and Atlanta, GA. We’re hiring a hybrid role working out of the Atlanta office for this position.
What you’ll do:
- Analyze coverage based on the facts of the loss
- Make informed liability decisions, including the consideration of comparative negligence
- Collaborate with claims leadership on severity losses, reserve adjustments and claim evaluations
- Evaluate settlement demands
- Negotiate settlements with first and third party claimants as well as attorneys
- Utilize data available to drive focus on claim trends
- Handle special projects or additional duties assigned related to your role as an individual contributor of the claims organization
About you:
- 7+ years of experience in commercial auto claim adjudication, with at least 5 years handling injury severity losses.
- At least 3 years of carrier commercial claims experience
- Has experience handling claims up to $250k FDV
- Active adjusters license in home or designated home state
- Consistently exceeds targets including, but not limited to, cycle time and recovery rates
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to lead negotiations
- Bias-to-action - you’re not afraid to get your hands dirty and stretch yourself
- Owner mentality - take accountability for your actions and results
- Customer centric working style
- Strong collaborator with team members based across the country and the world
- Successfully able to work in high-growth & ambiguous start-up environments
- College degree or minimum of 10-years of claims experience
Bonus if you also have these:
- 5+ years of carrier commercial transportation experience
- Litigation experience
- Independent adjuster licenses in New York
- Insurtech or start up experience

We set our salary ranges using compensation data from companies similar to our stage and size. For this role, the estimated salary is $77,000 - $89,000. The actual compensation will vary depending on multiple factors unique to each candidate, including location, job-related knowledge, transferable skills, work experience and our assessment of your level during the interview process.
