Position Summary:
The Staffing Specialist I is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruiting
Responsibilities:
- Proactively source candidates through job boards, LinkedIn, referrals, networking, cold outreach, and local partnerships
- Maintain continuous pipeline for high-volume and hard-to-fill roles
- Conduct daily outreach to passive and active candidates via phone, email, and social platforms
- Attend job fairs, hiring events, and community outreach initiatives as needed
Full-Cycle Recruiting
- Manage requisitions from intake to campus hand off
- Partner with hiring managers to clarify role requirements, urgency, and ideal candidate profiles
- Screen resumes, conduct phone/video interviews, and assess candidate fit
- Coordinate interviews, feedback, and next steps
- Prepare and extend offers in alignment with compensation guides
Hiring Support and Compliance
- Ensure candidates complete all required application and pre-employment steps
- Maintain accurate documentation and status updates in the ATS/HRIS and all trackers
- Ensure recruiting practices remain compliant with federal, state, and local regulations
Preferred Qualifications-
- Experience recruiting across multiple job families (faculty, skilled trades, construction)
- Knowledge of employment laws and hiring practices
- Experience recruiting in skilled trades and multi-location environments

Education and Experience:
Associates Degree and at least 5 years of recruiting experience

Physical Environment:
- Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment
- Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal
- Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment
- Stooping, bending twisting, and reaching may be required
