Position Summary
Universal Education Companies is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autistic Support Teacher to provide high-quality instruction and support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The ideal candidate is student-centered, data-driven, and committed to fostering academic growth, social-emotional development, and positive school culture in an urban educational setting.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction in an Autistic Support classroom
- Modify and adapt general education curriculum to meet diverse learning needs
- Implement research-based instructional strategies and interventions, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and social skills curricula
- Develop, implement, and monitor effective Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) with measurable outcomes
- Maintain ongoing communication with parents and caregivers regarding student progress
- Collect, analyze, and use data to monitor student growth and adjust instruction accordingly
- Participate actively in Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings and facilitate annual IEP meetings
- Maintain accurate and compliant special education documentation and student records
Requirement/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- Valid Pennsylvania Special Education Teaching Certification
- Experience working with students with disabilities, particularly Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Experience teaching in an urban classroom setting strongly preferred
- Demonstrated success using data-driven instruction to achieve student growth
- Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
