About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Market Research Manager to support strategic decision-making through innovative research approaches. This role will lead primary market research initiatives across the major EU Markets, evaluate brand performance, and provide critical insights to support our commercial growth and product launches in Europe.

Head of Analytics Europe

Key Responsibilities:

Manage primary and secondary market research projects from inception to completion, including vendor selection, questionnaire development, data analysis, and strategic recommendations
Support the implementation of innovative market research methodologies and solutions
Provide SME guidance on study design, research materials, and optimization opportunities across multiple concurrent projects
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop data-driven strategies supporting product launches, marketing campaigns, and sales initiatives
Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership aligned with brand objectives and country-specific needs.
Collaborate with US market research teams to optimize study materials, share insights, and implement best practices
Support forecasting teams with validated market research inputs and assumptions
Develop comprehensive understanding of disease states, competitive landscape, and market dynamics across major EU markets
Monitor and evaluate brand performance, market trends, and marketing initiative effectiveness
Track commercial launch preparation and performance, providing strategic commentary to senior management
Manage market research budget and vendor relationships with focus on cost optimization and quality delivery
Ensure compliance with pharmacovigilance requirements and regulatory standards
Support continuous improvement initiatives in data analysis methodologies

Experience & Background

Bachelor's / Master’s degree in business in Statistics/Mathematics, Medicine, Sciences, Health Economics, Sociology, or Psychology
10+ years of market research experience within pharmaceutical companies or specialist agencies
Experience collaborating with European markets and multicultural teams
Strong understanding of pharmaceutical sales, marketing processes, and disease areas

Strong analytical mindset with ability to identify actionable insights and strategic recommendations
Excellent project management capabilities including scoping, defining deliverables, and senior-level reporting
Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with strong sense of accountability
Discretion and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
Solution-oriented approach with strong business acumen
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
Working knowledge of statistical analytical techniques is nice to have

We are a leading biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of novel small molecule drugs that specifically target the cytoskeleton. The cytoskeleton is a complex biological infrastructure that plays a fundamental role within every human cell. A number of commonly used drugs and a growing body of research validate the role that the cytoskeleton plays in a wide array of human diseases. Our focus on the cytoskeleton enables us to develop novel and potentially safer and more effective classes of drugs directed at treatments for cancer, cardiovascular disease, fungal diseases and other diseases. We have developed a cell biology driven approach and proprietary technologies to evaluate the function of many interacting proteins in the complex environment of the intact human cell. We believe that our approach enhances the speed, efficiency and yield of our drug discovery and development process by accurately and rapidly identifying drug candidates with attractive properties. Our approach has yielded two drug candidates for the treatment of cancer, a drug candidate for the treatment of acute congestive heart failure and more than ten other research programs. Our most advanced drug candidate, SB-715992, is the subject of a broad Phase II clinical trials program designed to evaluate its effectiveness in many different types of cancer. An investigational new drug application, or IND, was filed with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, or FDA, in 2003 for our second cancer drug candidate, SB-743921, which we expect will enter Phase I clinical development in early 2004. SB-715992 and SB-743921 are being developed through our strategic alliance with GlaxoSmithKline. In addition, we expect to initiate Phase I clinical development for a drug candidate, CK-1213296, for the treatment of acute congestive heart failure in the second half of 2004.
