Summary
The Project Manager (MEP), Hospitality will be responsible to oversee project management of Capex MEP replacements from bid to completion for projects assigned by the Vice President of Engineering for a portfolio of hotels. Part of this oversight includes limited project management on special projects such as emergency remediation and reconstruction incidents and managing the third-party vendors completing this work.
Role and Responsibilities
- Review yearly capital plans for the planning of scope, quoting and scheduling according to cash flow months slated for these projects in tandem with VP of Engineering
- Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget and deliver maximum value while providing a safe work environment and high-quality standards in the areas these projects are being completed
- Ensure all technical aspects of the projects comply with Conditions of Contract, Particular Specifications, General Specifications, Contract Drawings
- Ensure all specifications and authority regulations indicated in technical submittals are followed on-site
- Researches any available rebates related to equipment replacements through utility programs and energy reduction initiatives
- Reports work progress and necessary on-site modifications to clients, consultants, and main contractors
- Supervise all MEP subcontractors, coordinating with hotels/consultants for material and site installation approvals on assigned projects
- Coordinate the work of subcontractors throughout different phases of the project
- Track and manage all related bid summaries, RFPs and other relevant documents.
- Monitor and control work progress to ensure completion within the allocated time and resources
- Practice and promote safe work habits at all sites
- Additional responsibilities as required by executive management.
Qualifications
- High School diploma with trade school/college course work in the related field required. Certification in one or more of the following trades preferred- HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Project Management
- Five years (or more) management-level engineering or project management field (I.e. commercial, industrial, hotel or health care)
- In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, techniques, concepts and building codes
- Knowledge of MEP construction (electrical and controls)
