About the team
As the world’s largest car sharing marketplace, Turo is growing, and we’re hiring in the San Francisco Bay Area. We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer on our Guest Experience team who brings exceptional taste and a high craft bar, turning complex decisions into experiences that feel simple, premium, and intuitive across web and mobile. At Turo, exceptional design is a driving force behind the end-to-end customer experience, shaping what we build and how it feels across the product. Many top priorities are seeded through research insights or a design-led vision.Craft quality carries through implementation, with close partnership during delivery to bring the details to life.
The work is elevated through thoughtful critique and deliberate iteration, grounded in empathy and kindness. There is real appetite for raising the craft bar, and designers have meaningful influence on how the experience looks, behaves, and expresses our brand across consumer-facing surfaces for millions of customers.
What you will do
As a Senior Product Designer on our Guest Experience team, you’ll craft high-quality web and mobile experiences that help guests move from browsing to booking with confidence. Work is organized around problems, and designers are empowered to follow the problem across key moments of the guest journey over time. You’ll turn complex decisions into flows and UI that make it easier to compare options, understand what matters, and customize the trip with confidence. You’ll bring exceptional taste and a strong craft practice to every stage of the work, from early concepting through high-fidelity execution, and you’ll use modern tools, including AI, when they meaningfully improve exploration, iteration, and quality, without replacing the human judgment that great design requires.
- Lead the design process from early framing through high-fidelity execution across web and mobile.
- Use prototyping throughout the design process, from early exploration through handoff, to communicate ideas, align partners, and bring interaction details to life.
- Shape the right UX questions and use research and data to make confident decisions.
- Bring exceptional taste to UI and interaction craft, simplifying complex decisions into clear, cohesive experiences that help guests choose with confidence, and raising the bar for polish in what ships.
- Communicate clearly and influence effectively, aligning partners through strong rationale and practical tradeoffs.
- Apply strong judgment to tradeoffs, knowing when to explore widely and when to simplify, so we ship the right level of quality at the right time.
- Model Turo’s design principles, process, and company values: Grounded, Driven, Expressive, and Bold.
Your profile
- Exceptional interaction and visual design skills, with strong taste in UI and interaction design and a portfolio showing high craft in shipped consumer experiences.
- Ability to edit ruthlessly, reduce complexity, and maintain a cohesive, premium visual standard across end-to-end guest experiences.
- Typically 8+ years of product design experience, with meaningful work across both web and mobile.
- Comfortable moving between broad problem framing and detailed execution, and energized by learning new spaces across the guest journey over time.
- Strong product judgment and communication, including the ability to articulate rationale, align partners, and make practical tradeoffs.
- Able to balance evidence with intuition, using research and data where it helps most while also trusting design sense to move quickly, build momentum, and improve outcomes.
- Low-ego, collaborative approach and a bias for action.
