THE ROLE:We are seeking a Perforce Administrator / Systems Administrator II who is a passionate gaming storyteller with a proven track record of launching hit titles to lead our product marketing team. WHO YOU ARE:

  • A highly capable Perforce Administrator / Systems Administratorsupport, maintain, and scale the version-control and infrastructure systems that power a multi-discipline game development organization
  • Administer and optimize Perforce (Helix Core) in a high-volume studio environment
  • Design and manage repository architecture, performance tuning, automation, and backup systems
  • Provide expert user support and troubleshooting for Perforce and related infrastructure
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, content, and production teams to ensure a stable, secure, and efficient source-control environment optimized for large-scale asset workflows

WHAT YOU WILL DO:Perforce (Helix Core) Administration

  • Manage, maintain, and scale Perforce servers, depots, replicas, edge servers, commit servers, and proxies.
  • Monitor server health, performance, and storage utilization; proactively implement tuning and optimizations.
  • Maintain and uphold branching/streaming strategies that support complex multi-project and multi-team workflows.
  • Administer permissions, protections, triggers, groups, licenses, and MFA/SAML integrations.
  • Oversee backup/restore strategies and perform periodic data integrity and disaster-recovery testing.
  • Support integrations with build systems, Digital Content Creation tools (Unreal, Unity, Maya), and CI/CD pipelines.

Systems Administration

  • Manage and support Windows and/or Linux servers used for Perforce, build pipelines, and internal tools.
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions for system reliability and uptime.
  • Perform OS-level performance troubleshooting, patching, security hardening, and lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with IT, Security, and Release Engineering to maintain compliance and secure access across the studio.
  • Support cloud or hybrid infrastructure (Azure/AWS/GCP) for scalability and distributed team workflows.

Studio Support & Collaboration

  • Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 support for development teams experiencing Perforce or infra issues.
  • Document processes, best practices, and onboarding materials for artists, designers, and engineers.
  • Participate in capacity planning and infrastructure roadmapping.
  • Partner with Build & Release, DevOps, and Tools teams to improve workflows and automation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3–5+ years of professional experience administering Perforce Helix Core, ideally in a game, VFX, or digital-content environment.
  • Strong understanding of commit/edge topology, streams and branch design, triggers, replicas, and large binary workflows.
  • Proficiency with Windows Server and/or Linux (Ubuntu/RHEL/CentOS).
  • Experience with scripting for automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, load balancing, firewalls, SMB/NFS performance issues).
  • Experience managing servers with thousands of users and large depots.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD systems.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience supporting game development pipelines (Unreal Engine, Unity, internal engines).
  • Knowledge of cloud-based Perforce deployments.
  • Experience with Docker/Kubernetes.
  • Experience with monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk).
  • Understanding of hybrid Perforce/Git workflows.
  • Security and compliance knowledge.
  • Strong ownership mentality and ability to work autonomously.
  • Highly collaborative with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical issues into clear documentation.
  • Proactive mindset focused on reliability and user experience.
