Revenue Accountant at Talos Energy

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will be responsible for all revenue accounting activities at Talos Energy including but not limited to:

Prepare monthly accruals for financial closing.
Record monthly oil, gas, and NGL sales and post-productions costs for various offshore properties.
Prepare monthly oil and gas sales invoices to purchasers for Talos’s marketed volumes.
Reconcile monthly receivables of oil, gas, and NGL sales.
Record pipeline cashouts and balance the supply for wet gas streams.
Settle platform and well level producer imbalances.
Analyze and troubleshoot the revenue accounting system.
Understand commercial terms of the leases, apply analytics to production volumes and values, and have a working knowledge of division order royalty payments.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in an oil and gas company.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Understands production allocations and general accounting principles.
Possesses a conceptual understanding of royalty compliance for federal offshore leases
Understands gas plant processing, NGL sales and plant thermal reduction.
Experience interpreting and applying oil & gas sales contracts, including transportation and processing terms.
Able to perform detailed work with speed and accuracy.
Able to organize and prioritize a diverse and significant workload consisting of many detailed, separate procedures and deadlines.
Strong analytical skills and deductive reasoning.
Creates strong work relationships with vendors, contractors, and internal staff.
Communicates effectively, both orally or utilizing electronic means.
Recognizes personal strengths and weaknesses and is proactive in self-development with the ability to grow.
Has a strong sense of integrity and the ability to deal with ethical situations effectively.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; Experience in BOLO or Excalibur accounting systems preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Employee must be able to sit for extended periods of time and have use of arms and hands in repetitive motion. A fair amount of standing and walking is also required for the position.
