Position Details:
As part of the SNF Global Center team, you will report to Managing Director, SNF Global Center for Child and Adolescent Mental Health at the Child Mind Institute. You will use your experience in operations and partnership, facilitate the planning, launch, and implementation of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Global Center for Child and Adolescent Mental Health at the Child Mind Institute. This is an exempt, full-time, remote position.
You Will:
- Plan and manage all aspects of implementation, national operations and quality assurance of the SNF Global Center's work in South Africa.
- Design and produce a strategy for partner engagement to support programmatic implementation as outlined in the above SNF Global Center goals for South Africa.
- Be the lead in-country liaison for the SNF Global Center to ensure programmatic implementation activities meet the long-term goals of the SNF Global Center grant and the needs of local implementing partners.
- Foster child and adolescent mental health collaborations, identify and develop strategic partnerships, across sectors (government, NGO, service providers, community groups professional networks, etc.) and levels (national, local).
- Form and maintain a collaborative relationship with the SNF Global Center International Advisory Council to support orchestrating meetings with local partners, and securing meeting minutes with detailed action plans.
- Maintain an Expert Advisory Council in South Africa and Youth Engagement Group including organizing and tracking meetings and outcomes of the Council and monitoring action plans and recommendations.
- Lead recruitment efforts and assemble a small, local team to staff the work in South Africa (to include contractors) while providing mentorship and support, in partnership with the Director of Psychosocial Interventions.
- Use and improve SNF Global Center and local operational management processes, and best practices and offer recommendations for improving efficiency and coordination to the SNF Global Center Managing Director.
You Have:
- Masters degree in a related discipline, with a minimum 5 years of senior level, operations, or project management experience .
- Experience managing relationships with a broad range of stakeholders Understanding of the mental health and child protection landscape and legislation and frameworks in South Africa.
- Knowledge of operational and resource allocation procedures, and departments such as finance, HR, communications.
- Either has or can rapidly build networks and connections to relevant stakeholders in South Africa.
- Fluency in English and at least one other official language of South Africa is required.

The salary range for the position is posted. Factors such as candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations affect the salary offered within this range. In addition, this salary may be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state and depending on the role), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
