Lafayette American, a creative agency in Detroit, MI is seeking a talented accounting professional to participate in accounting and finance functions as they evolve with the growth of the Agency. The candidate must be:

- Capable of working independently and handling several projects concurrently
This position reports to the Head of Finance.Responsibilities:
- Accounts payable: set up vendors and contractors. Input invoices into Quickbooks
- Accounts receivable: track, create, and send client invoices
- Assist with preparation of accurate journal entries, bank reconciliations, and other month-end close activities
- Monitor and verify that transactions are properly recorded in the general ledger
- Assist with expense report review
- Assist with tax preparation
- Maintain project trackers for monthly revenue recognition process, communicate status updates to Finance Leadership and team
- Assist with production and media finance tracking
- Perform special projects and ad hoc reporting as required by Finance Leadership
Skills / Qualifications:
- 1 year of relevant bookkeeping and/or accounting experience
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting required, or working toward one
- Solid analytical skills
- High energy level and desire to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, G-Suite
- Quickbooks experience a plus
