We are seeking an experienced
Indian Accounting Controller with deep expertise in Indian statutory accounting, taxation, and compliance, combined with hands-on NetSuite experience. This role will own end-to-end accounting operations for Indian entities while ensuring full compliance with Indian regulatory requirements and alignment with global accounting standards.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compliance-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, multinational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close for Indian legal entitiesEnsure accurate GL accounting, reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries in NetSuiteReview trial balances and financial statements for accuracy and completenessPartner with global finance teams to align closetimelines and reporting standards
Indian Compliance & Statutory Reporting
Ensure full compliance with
Indian accounting standards (Ind AS / Companies Act, 2013)
Manage statutory audits, including coordination with external auditorsOversee preparation and filing of:GST returns (GSTR-1,GSTR-3B, reconciliation)TDS / TCS returnsAdvance tax and income tax filingsMCA filings and statutory financial statementsMonitor changes in Indian tax and regulatory requirements and implement updates proactively
Taxation
Oversee
GST accounting, reconciliations, and audits
Review
TDS deductions, challans, and returns
Support transfer pricing documentation in coordination with tax advisorsPartner with external tax consultants for assessments and notices
Systems & Process Excellence (NetSuite)
Act as NetSuite accounting subject-matter expert for Indian entitiesConfigure and maintain:Chart of AccountsTax codes (GST, TDS)Entity and subsidiary structuresImprove accounting processes, internal controls, and documentationSupport NetSuite enhancements, integrations, and reporting improvements
Internal Controls & Governance
Maintain strong internal controls aligned with global policiesEnsure audit readiness and compliance with SOX-like control frameworks (where applicable)Document accounting policies, procedures, and workflows
Stakeholder Collaboration
Serve as primary finance contact for Indian auditors,tax advisors, and regulatorsCollaborate with US / global finance, FP&A,payroll, and legal teamsProvide clear financial insights and explanations to non-finance stakeholders
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CA (Chartered Accountant) required
7+ years of progressive accounting experience in IndiaStrong hands-on NetSuite experience (minimum 3+ years preferred)Deep knowledge of:Indian GAAP / Ind ASGST, TDS, income tax, MCA complianceExperience managing statutory audits and tax filingsAdvanced Excel skills; strong financial analysis capabilities
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a multinational or US-headquartered companyPrior experience in SaaS, technology, or fast-growing environmentsNetSuite certifications (a plus)Exposure to SOX or global internal control frameworks
