TDI is a cybersecurity small business with multi-year contracts and vehicles already in place. The Business Development (BD) Manager will play a key role in driving growth execution with a focus on Navy and Defense Cybersecurity services and solutions. TDI is the Leader in Cybersecurity Performance Management (CPM)™ and CPM Automation, AI-enabled Cybersecurity Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC), and Cybersecurity Operations supported with our Cybersecurity product, CnSight. Position will contribute to our growth strategy.
We are looking for a high energy, government contracting, BD Manager in support of cybersecurity growth opportunities in the Navy government contracting industry. Experience in Air Force or Army is considered a plus. The primary focus of this position is new business opportunity identification and qualification including leading request for information (RFI) responses. Participation may continue through capture and proposal activities for strategic bids with support from senior leadership depending on opportunity size and complexity.
A successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability and strong potential of building and maintaining customer relationships, identifying and developing a pipeline of growth opportunities, building industry partner/teaming relationships, selling and winning new work in full and open and/or small business markets, and increasing company revenue, through existing account expansion, partner relationships, and new leads.Hybrid commute with the ability to attend business development meetings and conferences in-person. Will be expected to talk with customers in the DC, Northern VA, and Tidewater VA areas. Travel is focused on relationship-building, opportunity shaping, and professional growth exposure.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead business development activities to research, analyze, identify and qualify new business opportunities resulting in company revenue growth.
- Build and maintain a developing and maturing qualified pipeline of opportunities aligning with TDI’s strategic cybersecurity growth vision and key customer account plans.
- Meaningfully engage customers (mission and government contracts) in identifying and shaping potential opportunities using deep knowledge of company capabilities, customer relationships, industry partner relationships, contract vehicles/acquisition strategy and past performance
- Identify and execute strategic win themes.
- Acquire competitive intelligence and support or lead development of winning solutions in collaboration with technical and capture leads.
- Understand and utilize TDI services and products, strategic partnerships, vehicles and past performances.
- Be results driven and execution-focused working well in a highly productive, highly accountable, small team environment where initiative and follow-through are critical.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years business development IT government services experience (will accept 4 years additional work experience in lieu of degree). Minimum of 1+ years’ experience in cybersecurity government services. Base level cybersecurity knowledge, must be conversant in security acronyms, security domains, frameworks, etc.
- Experience identifying and shaping or contributing to the shaping of technical opportunities in cybersecurity services and solutions.
- Demonstrated experience building customer and industry partner relationships for Navy opportunities. Air Force and Army exposure or relationships are a plus.
- Experience supporting or leading new business pursuits, including RFIs, capture support, and proposal development, with demonstrated success contributing to wins.
- Highly effective interpersonal skills working with and presenting to customers, company technical leaders, business executives and industry partners/teammates.
- Ability to simultaneously manage and execute identification and qualification for multiple opportunities concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience contributing to or supporting wins on new business contracts and/or contract vehicles such as IDIQs, GWACs, or BPAs is a plus.
- Current Secret or Top Secret clearance preferred. If there is no current clearance, the ability to obtain a Secret clearance is required.
- Experience using GSA HAC SIN for government customer sales is a plus.
- Navy customer and teaming partner relationships also a plus.
- Knowledge of and experience with Hampton Roads, VA or San Diego, CA work environment and personnel a plus.
