About the Role
We are looking for a field-based Vision Solutions Engineerin the Chicago, IL area to support customers throughout the full lifecycle of our vision systems — from pre-sales technical conversations to onsite deployments, troubleshooting, and long-term relationship building.This role involves spending the majority of time onsite with customers, with a travel pattern that is mostly regional and allows for regular return home.This is a highly customer-facing, hands-on role that sits at the intersection of engineering, applications, and sales.

Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted technical partner for customers in manufacturing environments
- Support the sales process end-to-end, including technical discovery, demos, onsite evaluations, and application support
- Spend significant time onsite at customer plants, building long-term relationships through presence, consistency, and follow-up
- Troubleshoot vision systems and related hardware/software in real production environments
- Integrating our systems with several components in customer site
- Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders — from operators to engineers to leadership
- Translate customer pain points into clear technical and commercial solutions
- Support installations, answer application questions, and help customers feel confident using the product
- Drive business growth by selling high-volume solutions (think 20+ cameras instead of just 1-2!).
- Travel 60-80% of the time to meet clients, ensuring a high level of satisfaction, continued engagement, and successful implementations.
Who you are
- Engineering studies background (BS in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical, or similar)
- At least 2 years of experience in or strong exposure to manufacturing or industrial environments
- At least 1 year of customer-facing experience, both internal or external, or in field-based settings
- Strong troubleshooting mindset
- Ability to work through ambiguity and fast-paced environments
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Willingness and enthusiasm for frequent travel
- Self-directed, autonomous, and comfortable working remotely
- Interest in supporting commercial outcomes, not just technical execution
- Must reside within ~1hr of our key territory (Chicago, IL) or be willing to relocate there.
