Marketing Content Specialist
to join our team in Amsterdam. As a Marketing Content Specialist, you will lead positioning, messaging, and content execution—focused heavily on writing—to drive brand awareness, engagement, and demand generation for Protolabs in the EMEA region. You will develop strategic content, ensure brand consistency, and craft compelling stories across digital channels. Working closely with the global brand team and regional channel specialists, you will deliver impactful communications that support growth objectives.
The role blends strategy with hands-on execution.What you'll do:
Content Strategy & Editorial Management
- Own the content roadmap aligned to marketing goals and product priorities.
- Build and maintain a unified editorial calendar across paid media, organic social, email, video, campaigns, and long-form content.
- Use keyword research to identify opportunities for web content in collaboration with global team
- Drive development of messaging frameworks and value propositions for campaigns and product storytelling.
- Oversee freelance writers; provide briefs, editorial guidance, and quality control.
- Partner with global brand team to ensure consistency in brand positioning, messaging, and voice + tone.
Content Creation & Copywriting
- Write compelling copy for campaigns, landing pages, emails, newsletters, social media posts, blog articles, case studies, and video scripts.
- Research technical topics and maintain accuracy of information across regional comms, including nuances of EMEA product offering
- Tailor tone, format, and messaging for different audiences and stages of the funnel.
- Edit copy for account-based marketing (ABM) and demand generation teams.
- Support SEO and CRO efforts with strong, performance-driven content.
- Serve as the regional point of contact for global PR requests, sponsorship requests and initiatives, which requires partnership with the global corporate communications manager.
- Make thoughtful use of AI tools and implement best practices for AI-generated content.
Social Media Management
- Develop, manage, and continuously optimize the organic social media strategy for the EMEA region.
- Collaborate closely with demand generation specialists to align organic content with paid and always-on demand generation initiatives.
- Maintain and evolve the social media calendar as part of the broader editorial calendar.
- Monitor social performance analytics and collaborate with channel owners to improve engagement, reach, and content effectiveness.
Campaign Planning & Execution
- Develop integrated marketing campaigns from concept to execution, coordinating across the entire marketing team, including channel owners.
- Manage creative briefs, timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional workflows.
- Work closely with channel specialists (digital, CRM/email, design, video, and social) to ensure unified messaging and execution.
- Monitor performance analytics and collaborate on optimization improvements for continuous growth.
Brand Communications & Messaging Governance
- Ensure brand consistency and tone of voice across all regional marketing assets.
- Translate complex product and engineering insights into clear, customer-centric messaging.
- Support regional leadership and internal teams with communication materials when needed.
- Partner closely with product, sales, customer service, and global marketing to align storytelling and share insights.
What it takes:
- Bachelor’s and preferably Master's degree, either in media, journalism, marketing, or communications.
- 5+ years of marketing or communications experience and experience with writing, content development, and content strategy.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills a must; can maintain a professional voice, but one that’s not void of personality.
- Strong grasp of digital marketing channels and what content works best for those channels.
- Experience working with art directors and designers in a creative environment.
- Attention to detail and appreciation for brand consistency driven by brand guide required; familiarity with one of the major style guides (AP Stylebook/Chicago Manual).
- Independent worker capable of managing multiple projects in parallel with the ability to quickly learn technical information and apply it in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with CMS platforms like Umbraco or WordPress, and a solid grasp of the mechanics of SEO and leveraging website content to drive in-bound traffic to the site.
