ESSENTIAL TASKS & DUTIES:
Works closely with Quality Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Design Engineering in the following functions.
- Measures key features and parts to ensure adherence to specification and control plans.
- Programs measurement equipment for automated vision system and CMM dimensional checks.
- Maintains quality records for batch and part traceability.
- Enter data in ERP system for record retention.
- Works closely with Suppliers, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Customer Service & Sales to arrive at corrective and preventive actions for defects.
- Conduct regular quality control tests and audits to verify measurement accuracy and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze measurement data, identify trends, and assess instrument performance, including uncertainty analysis and statistical process control.
- Develop, write, and update measurement procedures, calibration protocols, and technical reports for internal use and compliance records.
- Document and report any deviations or discrepancies in measurement results and maintain detailed records for auditing and quality control purposes.
- Diagnosing and resolving issues related to measurement accuracy, instrument malfunctions, and process deviations.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and optimize measurement systems and processes.
- Coordinate return of failures to suppliers through non-conforming process, follow up for corrective actions / implementation and ensure effectiveness.
- Conducts first article approval for new part numbers or change in supplier, as necessary.
- Performs evaluations and testing for new product introduction.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Provides status reports to management as required.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures and organize work areas for efficiency and safety.
Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Experience using and programming CMM equipment.
- Familiar with using measurement equipment. Calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, thickness and height gauges, pressure and leak measurement instruments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including email, creating/editing word documents and powerpoint work instructions.
- Detail oriented person.
- Organizes and maintains electronic files so supplier and customer supporting materials are easily retrievable.
Education & Experience:
- Two-year technical degree and at least two years’ experience as a Quality Technician or equivalent combinations of skills and experience is needed.
- Specific Skill requirements include excellent oral and written communication skills, and proven teamwork ability.
- Must have basic understanding of statistics.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts addition and basic statistical analysis like computing averages, frequency distributions, Pareto analysis and plot histograms, bar, line and pie charts.
Computer Skills
Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications, MRP platforms and Statistical software.
Reasoning Ability
Proven problem-solving ability. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Other:
