The Payroll Tax Specialist will be responsible for the filings and remittance of our customers’ federal, state, and local payroll taxes. This position requires the payroll specialist to ensure compliance with all payroll tax regulatory reporting, research and respond to tax notices, process amended tax returns, and assist customers with payroll tax-related questions and inquiries.
Responsibilities
- Review daily deposits for all customer tax payments coming due and ensure timely processing.
- Complete timely payroll tax filings for withholding, unemployment, and local agencies.
- Monitor customer payroll tax setups to ensure accuracy.
- Review and communicate needed tax identification numbers, missing Power of Attorney documents, Third Party Website attachments, withholding frequencies, and tax rates.
- Review and respond to customer payroll tax inquiries and agency notices sent in for review.
- Take on special projects as needed.
Required Skill Sets & Experiences
- Payroll Tax Experience: 3+ years minimum
- MasterTax Experience: Preferred
- Sales Force Experience: preferred
- UKG (Kronos) experience: preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong knowledge of federal, state and local payroll taxes
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to details
