As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Vice President, Business Development to join our dynamic team.  

Position Summary:


The Vice President, Business Development is a working senior leader  responsible for driving revenue growth across our Corporate Events, Conferences, and Expositions business. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on business development, cultivating, pursuing, and closing high-value opportunities while leading a team of business development professionals.  Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, the VP will expand business from both new and existing clients, develop strategic partnerships, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure solutions meet client needs and deliver measurable value. Position may be done remotely but must be willing to travel.  

Key Responsibilities:


  • Serve as player-coach. Actively lead the Business Development team while carrying an individual pipeline and revenue target. 
  • Coach, mentor, and develop business development team members with clear goals, accountability, and support.
  • Partner with CGO to establish best practices and pipeline discipline.
  • Identify, pursue, and close new opportunities across events, expositions, and experiential programs with direct brands, agencies, and exhibit house partners.
  • Lead major pitches and proposals, ensuring strategic alignment and compelling storytelling.
  • Oversee team activities to ensure steady pipeline growth and improved win ratio.
  • Partner with divisions leadership, ADs, and AEs to support proposal strategy, upsell opportunities, and cross-functional solution-building.
  • Cultivate and grow relationships with creative and event agencies, experiential partners, and other referral channels. 
  • Identify opportunities for large-scale event programs with strategy, creative, sponsorship sales, marketing services, production services, and experiential activation needs.
  • Work with marketing on messaging, campaign alignment, and MQL/SQL handoff process.
  • Partner with Creative, Sales, and Marketing to shape proposals that are strategic, solution-based, and compelling. 
  • Ensure new business is transitioned smoothly to execution teams. 
  • Oversee revenue performance, pipeline velocity, and conversion/close rates related to new business efforts.

Who You Are:


  • 10+ years in business development, sales, or client growth roles in events, expositions, experiential marketing, or agency environments.
  • Demonstrated success as both an individual contributor and team leader.
  • Strong track record of closing mid-to-large scale event programs and experiential projects.
  • Experience in growing existing accounts and building long-term client relationships. 
  • Existing network in events, exhibitions, agencies, or experiential marketing preferred.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and executive presentation skills. 
  • Solid business, financial, and industry acumen.  Proficiency working with CRM systems is also expected.
  • Expert time management and organizational skills, with the ability to quickly and gracefully adapt to a rapidly-changing environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing.  A graduate degree, such as an MBA, is also helpful. An equivalent combination of experience and education is acceptable
  • Ability to travel as required.
