The Programming Team Manager is responsible for leading, supporting, and developing the programming team to ensure high-quality project delivery, efficient processes, and continuous improvement. This role combines people leadership, technical expertise, and collaboration with engineering leadership to ensure programming standards, methodologies, and system designs are effectively executed.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the programmers feel supported, and that their concerns are listened to and addressed when they arise
- Provide coaching to programmers in a supportive way
- Clear roadblocks to ensure the programmers can work effectively
- Nurture a team culture of proactive communication, efficiency and problem-solving
- Inspire team members to constantly improve processes, client relationships and work delivery
- Motivate team members to participate in a collaborative environment
- Strengthen the programming team with education and training
- Maintain the team’s application of, and hold the team accountable to, process standards
- Introduce new programming concepts and methodologies
- Develop and maintain programming templates for driving programming efficiency
- Establish and monitor performance; develop and assign goals, as well as establish priorities
- Collaborate with engineering leadership to ensure system designs are able to be deployed and programmed in the most efficient manner possible
- Assign projects to programmers
- Conduct bi-weekly 1:1 meetings and annual reviews with employees
- Manage PTO requests, approve timesheets, etc.
- Program projects where necessary to assist the team

Education & Skill Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in programming AV systems
- CTS Certification required
- Master Crestron Programmer or higher preferred
- Extron Control Professional certification preferred
- QSC Q-SYS Programming level II certification preferred
- CTS-I and CTS-D certifications preferred
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Training
- It will be necessary to participate in upgrading courses from time to time to keep abreast of changing policy, technology, and growth.
