Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced SQL Server Administrator to manage and support our comprehensive SQL Server environments, including on-premises SQL Servers, Azure SQL Databases, and Azure SQL Managed Instances. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, performance, security, and reliability of our SQL database systems while supporting development, QA, and production environments across hybrid cloud infrastructure.


Job Description:


Key Responsibilities:


• Administer, monitor, and maintain on-premises SQL Servers, Azure SQL Databases, and

Azure SQL and SQL Managed Instances


• Perform database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and migrations between platforms• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and recovery planning for all SQL environments• Monitor database performance and health, implementing tuning and optimization strategies• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to support application deployments• Implement and maintain security policies, including user access, roles, and permissions• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in both on-premises and cloud environments• Manage capacity planning, storage optimization, and database growth strategies• Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, Azure CLI, and other scripting tools• Maintain documentation for database architecture, configuration, and best practices• Provide 24/7 on-call support for critical database issues• Manage database conversions between SQL Server and Oracle platforms

Required Qualifications:


• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field• 5+ years of experience managing SQL Server environments• Strong experience with

Azure SQL Databases and Managed Instances


• Proficiency in T-SQL, PowerShell, and database automation scripting• Knowledge of backup/recovery strategies, HA/DR solutions, and performance tuning• Experience with database monitoring tools and troubleshooting• Familiarity with cloud networking, security, and compliance standards in Azure• Experience with database migration tools (Azure Database Migration Service, Data Migration Assistant)• Knowledge of Azure security features (Azure AD integration, TDE, Always Encrypted)• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills• Effective communicator and self-starter• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation• Microsoft SQL and Azure certifications (Azure Database Administrator Associate preferred)• Experience with cross-platform database conversions between SQL Server and Oracle (preferred)
