Opportunity and Summary of Position:
The Director, Trade Accounts maintains an ownership mentality and is responsible for customer relationship management, negotiations, contracting, business planning, and ensuring contractual obligations are met and future initiatives are executed to meet / exceed organizational goals.The Director will collaborate with key internal stakeholders: Field teams (i.e., Market Access, MPS, Medical and Sales), Marketing, Data Analytics, Med Affairs, Finance, Pricing & Contracting, Regulatory and Legal to identify growth opportunities and implement innovative, patient-centric solutions.
This position reports to the Executive Director, Trade and Specialty Distribution.
Position Responsibilities:
Develop breadth and depth of NASH disease state, Rezdiffra therapy and overarching Madrigal commercialization strategy knowledgeAdminister, negotiate, and execute IDN contracts according to established goals, objectives and timelinesResponsible for building rapport / maintaining collaborative Madrigal partnerships with contracted IDN accounts (i.e., including but not limited to requirement setting, sourcing and contracting, and ongoing performance management)Represent Madrigal, in collaboration with the Key Account Director (KAD) team, as a point of contact for contract focused activities for respective IDN accounts including travel to organizations and key conferences (i.e., Asembia, NASP, etc.) to conduct live business meetingsCollaborate closely with key field teams (i.e.
KADs, Sales, MPS, etc.) on key initiatives and inquiries related to contracting status, timelines, escalations, etc.Consistently evaluate existing IDN channel opportunities with a focus on impact, and support initiatives related to enhancing the modelCreate business plans focused on SMART goals and objectives aligned with key Madrigal leadership and Market Access Strategic ImperativesCollaborate closely with Madrigal KAD team to proactively communicate IDN intel across Madrigal stakeholdersManage IDN escalations by identifying innovative, collaborative, cross-functional and team driven solutionsDevelop and communicate key messages to internal and external IDN partnersCollaborate with IDN, MPS, and Data Analytics counterparts to deliver measurable business outcomes and influence change management across internal teams focused on key performance indicators (KPIs)Ensure highest level of ethics, quality, and compliance by demonstrating in depth knowledge of laws that govern market access and channel activitiesConduct all activities in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations and company policies
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in Business or Pharmacy preferred10+ years of related experience in the biopharma industry with a proven, consistent history of high performance in a broad range of customer-facing roles10+ years of experience in Trade/Patient Support customer facing related roles with increasing responsibilitiesExperience with distribution strategy and customer contractingAbility to develop insights from data trends to improve program performanceExperience with pre-launch drugs and new product launchesAbility to work effectively within cross-functional teams and in an environment of rapid and constant changeExcellent written, organizational, verbal, presentation, and communication skills a mustProficient in MS Office products including PowerPoint, Word, and ExcelAbility to travel as needed for role responsibilitiesMadrigal offers a competitive Total Rewards strategy to attract and retain top talent and is inclusive of base pay, bonus, equity, and a generous benefits package.
Full-time employees are eligible for base salary, bonus, equity, and a comprehensive benefits suite.Base salary is determined by several factors including the candidate’s qualifications, skills, education, experience, business needs, and market demands. As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position, applicable to all candidates, is $223,000 - $273,000 per year.
