Internship Overview:


Intuitive Machines is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Structures and Design team as an intern. As a Loads & Dynamics Intern in the Structures & Analysis Group, you will contribute to the structural integrity and dynamic performance of aerospace systems, including spacecraft, landers, and payloads. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to apply engineering principles, use advanced tools, and collaborate with experienced engineers on cutting-edge projects. This is a full time, paid, summer internship here at our headquarters in Houston Texas.

Under the supervision and mentorship of senior engineers you could expect the following:

Key Responsibilities Or Areas of Support 


  • Support the development of loads and dynamic models to analyze aerospace structures and systems.
  • Conduct static, modal, and dynamic analyses using tools such as Siemens Simcenter, Nastran, and related software.
  • Develop and refine CAD models in CREO to facilitate structural analysis and testing.
  • Assist in performing system-level and component-level simulations to predict responses to launch loads, vibrations, and thermal conditions.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations to document analysis results and support engineering decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet structural requirements and mission objectives.
  • Support test campaigns, including instrumentation setup and data correlation with analysis models.

Qualifications:


  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of structural analysis principles, including loads, dynamics, and random vibration analysis.
  • Experience/exposure with at least one engineering analysis tool such as Siemens Simcenter, Nastran, or similar or an aspiration to learn said tools.
  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., CREO, SolidWorks) or an aspiration to learn said tools.
  • Strong passion for space & engineering
