The Opportunity
We're looking for a mid-level or senior front-end developer to lead a greenfield initiative: rebuilding our web application's front end in React, replacing the current ASP.NET MVC architecture. You'll be the dedicated front-end specialist on a collaborative team of eight, working closely with back-end engineers and our principal software engineer to shape the user experience of IntelliTrack from the ground up.This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives with ownership and wants to make foundational technical decisions that will define our product for years to come.

Job Summary
The Front-End Engineer designs and implements a modern React-based user interface that integrates seamlessly with our .NET microservices architecture. This role collaborates closely with back-end developers to define API contracts and ensure smooth integration and leads efforts to establish front-end standards and drive best practices across the team.

Primary Job Responsibilities
- Architect and build a modern React front end that consumes our .NET microservices APIs
- Collaborate with back-end developers to define API contracts and integration patterns
- Evaluate and implement a component library (MUI, Mantine, or Chakra are under consideration)
- Establish front-end standards, patterns, and best practices for the team
- Translate product requirements and UX designs into performant, accessible interfaces
- Incrementally migrate functionality from the legacy MVC application
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and technical discussions
- Potentially contribute to React Native mobile applications as the product evolves
Requirements
Job Competencies, Skills & Experience
Required
- 3+ years of professional experience building web applications with React
- Strong command of modern JavaScript (ES6+) and front-end fundamentals (HTML, CSS)
- Experience integrating front-end applications with RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with modern build tools and workflows (Vite, Webpack, npm/yarn)
- Experience working in Agile development environments
- Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with a distributed team
- A pragmatic approach to balancing code quality, delivery speed, and technical debt
Preferred
- Experience with TypeScript
- Experience with React Native or interest in mobile development
- Familiarity with component libraries such as MUI, Mantine, or Chakra UI
- Experience with Jira, Bitbucket, and Atlassian workflows
- Exposure to Azure services and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines)
- Familiarity with modern DevOps practices and deployment workflows
- Familiarity with authentication platforms such as IdentityServer or Microsoft Identity Platform (via MSAL)
- Exposure to enterprise software or B2B SaaS products
- Understanding of .NET ecosystems or experience collaborating closely with .NET teams
- Experience leading or establishing front-end architecture on greenfield projects
- Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor) as a productivity multiplier. We value developers who leverage AI for documentation, test generation, and accelerating quality work, not as a substitute for solid engineering fundamentals
Environment and Normal Working Conditions
Office environment. Core business hours are generally 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. However, this position will/may require work to be performed outside of normal business hours based on Company operations.
Physical Requirements
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting including verbally communicating, seeing and hearing to exchange information and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard. Daily physical functions may include standing, sitting and walking for prolonged periods of time and occasionally stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting. The employee may engage in lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling light to moderate amounts of weight up to 25 pounds.
The position also requires the operation of office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement.
