Civic Nation seeks an Associate, Individual Giving & Family Foundations to serve as a vital member of our Development Team. The Associate will play a vital role helping achieve our mission by working to grow revenue from individuals and family foundations. Reporting to the Director of Individual Giving & Family Foundations and working in partnership with an array of development and program staff, the Associate will support all aspects of the donor cycle, including prospecting, outreach tracking, drafting proposals and reports, tracking grant agreements and documentation, and database maintenance. The position requires strong research, writing, and organizational skills. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a passion for Civic Nation’s mission and an ability to manage multiple priorities at once in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
This position is remote, but preference will be given to candidates based in the Washington, DC area.
ABOUT THE DEVELOPMENT & CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS DEPARTMENT
The Development and Corporate Partnerships team is focused on building partnerships and raising the funds necessary for Civic Nation and its initiatives to carry out its ambitious plans. Through a variety of tools and resources, the Development team engages in conversation and raises funds from foundations, individuals, and corporations to support our ongoing efforts. The Corporate Partnerships team is responsible for developing impact-generating partnerships and supporting fundraising efforts through corporate partnerships.
This team is crucial to not only the success of the organization, but also to the larger culture shift of how business and philanthropy can use their influence for good.

YOUR IMPACT
- Prospecting: In collaboration with the Director, help to identify and research new prospects, create outreach lists, and create email drafts.
- Begin and manage the proposal process by creating working documents, creating timelines, and writing first-drafts. This involves working across teams and initiatives at Civic Nation to create written pitches to present our programmatic work and vision to funders.
- Manage and organize all grant agreements and relevant funder materials for record and reporting purposes.
- Manage the reporting process by developing working documents, creating timelines, and drafting language.
- Lead on the maintenance and upkeep of our donor database in our CRM and Drive for the Individual Giving & Family Foundations Portfolio; including maintaining contact information and contact history, and uploading all relevant funder materials, including but not limited to emails, applications, grants, reports, and budgets.
- Support and collaborate with the Development team on quality assurance and proofreading external materials as needed.
- Provide key administrative and organizational support to the Development Department, including assisting with donor mailings, special events, and other tasks, as needed.
- Other relevant duties as assigned.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
- 2+ years of experience working in a fast-paced fundraising environment, such as a non-profit or grassroots campaign.
- Demonstrated written, verbal, and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail - writing samples may be requested.
- Experience and familiarity with CRMs like HubSpot.

SALARY & BENEFITS
The Washington, DC-based salary range for this position is $62,600 to $65,000 (will be adjusted for cost of labor for the incumbent's work location) annually, commensurate with experience.
