Diamond Lab Quality Assurance Specialist
Monday - Friday - 7:00am-3:30pm
Are you detail-driven and enjoy hands-on work that keeps production running smoothly? We’re looking for a Diamond Lab Quality Assurance Specialist to help maintain the quality and consistency of our diamond and CBN abrasives — key materials in our precision manufacturing process.In this role, you’ll be responsible for cleaning, sieving, shaping, inspecting, and maintaining abrasive materials to support our production flow and ensure every product meets our high standards for accuracy and performance.
You’ll work closely with all segments of the business to plan priorities, maintain lab conditions, and continuously improve our processes.
What You’ll Do:
- Inspect incoming abrasive samples under a microscope to confirm identity, size, and quality before release.
- Maintain diamond abrasive inventory for our quality assurance program for incoming and in-process abrasives and ensure the correct materials are issued to production on time.
- Conduct friability testing to measure abrasive toughness and record results.
- Reclaim used abrasive through chemical cleaning, acid and NaOH soaks, and firing when required.
- Maintain accurate records of abrasive batches, testing, and calibration.
- Ensure lab equipment (sieves, timers, temperature monitors) is calibrated and maintained. Monitor lab temperature and humidity, alerting maintenance if conditions fall outside specifications.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams.
What You’ll Bring:
- Hands-on experience working as a laboratory technician
- Knowledge of particle cleaning and sieving procedures.
- Proven experience working with chemicals and precision equipment.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating with production needs.
- Basic computer and documentation skills.
- Knowledge of Abrasive Grain Association standard ANSI B74. 16 a plus.
