Location: 4400 Papa Joe Hendrick Blvd, Charlotte, North Carolina 28262Hendrick Motorsports, fifteen-time NASCAR Cup Champion, is currently seeking Race Engine Assemblers.

Summary:


  • Underthe general direction of the Engine Production Manager, the engine assembleris responsible forassembling enginesandmeasuring, inspecting, and assembling components to ensure maximum operating efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


include the following:


  • Read and interpret assembly blueprints and specifications manuals and plan assembly or building operations.
  • Maintain and lubricate parts and components.
  • Inspect and prep components for assembly.
  • Set and verify critical clearances.
  • Inspect and replace damaged parts in assemblies.
  • Maintain and lubricate parts and components for assembly.
  • Verify conformance of parts to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
  • Fasten and install piping, fixtures, and components to form assemblies or subassemblies using hand tools.
  • Work with Engineering to update BOMS & Prints.
  • Work closely with management to address issues and provide solutions.
  • Track Support when needed.
  • Train new assemblers as they are added to the group.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

DesiredEducation:


  • GED
  • High School Diploma

Education/Experience:


  • 2+ years of experience in a production or shop environment isrequired. Requires working knowledge of basic mechanical skills and competencies.
  • Must have a proventrack recordof building race engines. Mustpossessa sound understanding of internal combustion engines.

Certificates and Licenses:


  • Valid Driver’s License

Computer Skills:


  • Requires basic computer skills.

Communication Skills:


  • Mustpossessstrong communicationskills and an excellent sense of customer satisfaction, communicating with other departments, andperform workastimelyand precisely as possible.

Attendance Expectations:


  • The position requires regular and predictable attendance. Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Demands:


  • Requires vision (near, distance, depth) and ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) –safety glasses.Constantly manually manipulates.
  • Frequently stands, walks, sits, reaches outward, lifts/carries up to 50 pounds, and pushes/pull up to 40 pounds.
  • Occasionallyreaches above shoulder, climbs, crawls, squats or kneels, bends, lifts/carries over 100 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 100 pounds.

Environment Demands:


  • Primarily works indoors.
