Position Summary


The East Coast Field Service Manager oversees all field service operations for rotating equipment, including motors, switchgear, drive systems, generators, engines, pumps, gearboxes, compressors, fans, and blowers. This role ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery while managing field personnel, coordinating customer projects, optimizing operational performance, supporting sales growth, and driving profitability. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in field service or maintenance leadership and must be willing to work on-site at customer locations and ISS facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Field Service Operations:


  • Lead, schedule, and coordinate field service activities, including repair, installation, troubleshooting, alignment, and commissioning of rotating equipment.
  • Ensure jobs are completed safely, on time, and within scope.
  • Manage job planning, resource allocation, tooling readiness, equipment rentals, and documentation.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards (OSHA, EPA, FAA, as applicable).
  • Support complex technical issues and provide field-level expertise as needed.

Team Leadership & Development:


  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performance East Coast field service team.
  • Conduct performance reviews, support career development, and ensure technician readiness.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Optimize margins, drive efficiencies, and maintain high-quality standards.
  • P&L responsibility for East Region Field Services with emphasis on profitable growth.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Sales teams to develop budgets, strategies, and field service plans.

Customer & Project Management:


  • Serve as primary contact for field service-related customer needs.
  • Provide accurate job estimates, scope of work, and technical documentation to customers.
  • Ensure timely communication with customers before, during, and after service events.
  • Partner with sales and customer service teams to address issues and resolve escalations.

Quality, Safety & Compliance:


  • Enforce safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and OSHA requirements.
  • Conduct job audits, field inspections, and safety observations.
  • Ensure accurate service documentation and compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Business & Operational Performance:


  • Support revenue growth through quoting, customer retention, and service expansion.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Maintain inventory, tools, calibration requirements, and service truck readiness.
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, engineering, and repair teams to meet customer needs.

Qualifications


Required:


  • 5–10 years’ experience with rotating equipment (motors, pumps, compressors, generators, etc.).
  • 3+ years in a supervisory or field leadership role.
  • Knowledge of vibration analysis, alignment, and root-cause diagnostics.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, OEM manuals, and job specs.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Clean driving record and ability to travel for customer work.

Preferred:


  • Experience in industrial maintenance, power generation, manufacturing, mining,  refineries, or reliability services.
  • Certifications: Level I–III Vibration Analysis (ISO), Laser Alignment, API/ANSI standards.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA compliance and safety programs.
  • Project management experience.
