Senior Manager, Evaluation Programs Policy

The Senior Policy Manager primarily serves as the lead in evolving all NCQA Evaluation Products (e.g., accreditations, recognitions, certifications) in preparation for a new survey system. This position works across Product and Customer Operations units and NCQA departments and demonstrates collaborative leadership. The position is responsible for in-market product enhancements as a standards writer to ensure modernization and alignment of NCQA products. The position also develops and implements a modular product framework that fosters value-based linkages between physician practices, health plans and other organizations as applicable. The position also coordinates with others to ensure operational processes and systems align with ongoing product modifications.
The Senior Policy Manager has and maintains a current knowledge of the healthcare industry and works collaboratively across the organization to help advance NCQA’s mission. After all products are implemented in the new survey system, the senior manager will continue to work on the Evaluation Programs Development team.

Responsibilities


Education and Training Programs

  • Participates in development and implementation of Surveyor/Evaluator training programs.
  • Serves as speaker/faculty for Speakers’ Bureau and other NCQA educational conferences.

Modernization and Alignment of Evaluation Products

  • Create new publications, standardizing scoring, terminology, policies, content and design.
  • Lead associated public comments and Evaluation Programs Committee reviews and approvals.
  • Organize and lead teams to achieve goals.

Ongoing Development and Enhancement of Products

  • Maintain knowledge of the current health industry and regulatory environment and apply it in development and enhancement activities.
  • Lead the identification and resolution of complex issues.
  • Collaborate with Product Development and other NCQA Departments on Product Teams providing content expertise, standards and product development and system knowledge, as applicable.

Requirements


  • Master’s degree or Bachelor’s Degree in a health related field with relevant work experience.
  • 5+ years working with managed care in some setting: may be consulting, provider organization, etc., or similar relevant experience in health care industry.
  • Decision making, diplomacy, discipline, project management, critical thinking, writing, presentation/public speaking, able to work under pressure, deadline oriented.

Compensation & Benefits:


  • For new hires, this position pays in the range of $105,000 - $115,000 per year, depending on experience.
  • This position is eligible for an annual incentive bonus, payable in accordance with policy.
