Our global team works with cutting-edge technology to make a difference around the world and prides itself on being people-first, customer-focused and fun.The People Ops Partner will play a pivotal role in driving a positive employee experience across the full talent lifecycle from opening a new requisition and recruiting top talent, to supporting employee engagement, development, and transitions. As a key member of the broader People Team, this role acts as a trusted partner to leadership and employees in both our Seattle and Tukwila, Washington offices. This is a hybrid position requiring in-office presence from either (or both) offices at least two days per weekYou will support full-cycle recruiting efforts, shape compensation recommendations with market data, and support onboarding programs that enable employee success from day one.
You will also guide employee relations matters with fairness and confidentiality, help deliver meaningful engagement initiatives, and partner closely with Payroll and Security to uphold compliance and safety standards. This role is ideal for a seasoned HR Business Partner who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys wearing multiple hats, and is comfortable supporting both local and geographically distributed employees.
Responsibilities:
- Full life cycle recruiting: building the job requisition out with hiring managers, sourcing candidates, coaching managers and interviewers through the process, negotiate with candidates and run background and reference checks.
- Assist with compensation review and recommendations based on market data for new roles and annual reviews or adjustments.
- Assist with onboarding development and oversight to include new employee check-ins, manager check-ins, and general acclimation to the company.
- Categorize employee to labor categories (LCATS), validate with in appropriate bands for pay and experience.
- Lead and support employee relations investigations—including complaints, policy violations, and workplace concerns—ensuring fairness, confidentiality, and compliance.
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers, providing guidance on workplace policies, conflict resolution, and employee relations matters.
- Support or organize recognition programs, cultural events, BlackSky Briefs and other engagement or team-building activities that reflect our values and strengthen connections.
- Conduct exit interviews and work to incorporate feedback as appropriate.
- Partner with security to oversee the Washington State Safety Programs for our Seattle and Tukwila offices.
- Conduct regular check-ins, surveys, and feedback sessions to identify engagement and employee relations trends.
- Work with the payroll team to support payroll review, with a focus on compliance and working within our SOX controls.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, psychology or other relevant field of study.
- At least eight (8) years of experience as an HRBP to include: recruiting, employee relations/performance management, and other responsibilities listed above.
- Experience with Greenhouse or another similar ATS and ADP or another similar HRM.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, emotion intelligence and empathy.
- Previous experience working with an engineering or technology company, preferably within the aerospace industry.
- Strong problem-solving skills and comfortable with autonomy and supporting local and geographically dispersed teams.
- Collaborative work style, strong ethics and business acumen are critical skills for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- HR Certification such as SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP or HRCI.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field of study.
- Experience recruiting for non-exempt employees (specifically, technicians).
- Previous experience working for a publicly traded company.

Full-time, international employees are eligible for benefits as well within their region.The anticipated salary range for candidates in Seattle, WA is $120,000-145,000 per year. The final compensation package offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on specific background and education.
