JOB GOAL: The Early Childhood Teacher provides a nurturing, stimulating, and developmentally appropriate environment for preschoolers. This role promotes curiosity, independence, and foundational skills through intentional instruction aligned with early learning philosophies and frameworks. The teacher collaborates with families and colleagues to support each preschooler’s cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development. Responsibilities:
- Design and implement daily lesson plans aligned with early learning standards and curriculum frameworks.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment that promotes growth and exploration.
- Observe, assess, and documentpreschoolers’progress to guide instruction and communicate outcomes to families.
- Integrate play-based learning to develop literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional skills.
- Collaborate with assistant teachers and staff to ensure cohesive classroom instruction.
- Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and reporting requirements.
- Engage families through communication, conferences, and family-centered events.
- Participate in professional learning and reflective practices to enhance instructional quality.
- Collaborate with specialists to ensure an inclusive environment for all Preschoolers.
- Monitor materials andmaintainorganized classroom spaces.
Requirements/ Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood educationor related field (required).
- Current CPR and First Aid Childhood Education or related field (required).
- Knowledge of early learning philosophies/frameworks (Creative Curriculum,High Scope, Reggio Emilia).
- Demonstrate patience, empathy, and understanding of preschoolers’ development.
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Creativity, flexibility, and problem-solving abilities.
- Soung judgement and decision-making in classroom management.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of instruction.
