We’re looking for a Legal Manager and Compliance Manager to own and manage all legal and compliance aspects across Fi’s business verticals — including banking partnerships, lending operations, regulatory compliance, and commercial contracts. This role demands strong business acumen, comfort working in a fast-paced startup, and the ability to balance risk with growth.
Key Responsibilities
-Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts (vendor, partner, technology, marketing, and employment agreements).-Provide legal support for the NBFC and lending business, including loan documentation, co-lending agreements, and regulatory liaisoning.-Ensure ongoing compliance with RBI regulations, data protection, and consumer finance laws.-Work closely with product, finance, and compliance teams to assess and mitigate legal risk in product launches and business initiatives.-Partner with external counsel on specialized matters including corporate, IP, litigation, and regulatory filings.-Support due diligence and corporate governance activities.-Develop internal processes and templates to streamline contract and compliance management.
Regulatory & Compliance:
-Monitor and interpret RBI, SEBI, NBFC, and data privacy regulations relevant to our business, ensuring -proactive compliance.-Collaborate with internal stakeholders to operationalize compliance requirements into product and process design.-Liaise with regulators and industry bodies when needed, ensuring all statutory filings, reporting, and disclosures are timely and accurate.
What We’re Looking For
-5–8 years of experience, ideally with a mix of law firm and in-house (fintech/NBFC/startup) exposure.-Strong understanding of financial services regulations, RBI circulars, consumer lending, and data privacy frameworks.-Excellent drafting and negotiation skills with an eye for operational detail.-Proactive, business-oriented approach — able to translate legal advice into practical solutions.-Comfortable working independently in an evolving regulatory environment.This is a 5 days work from office role and we are in Brookfield, Bengaluru.We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
