Senior Director of HR Operations
Exterro is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Director of HR Operations to lead the design, optimization, and execution of our core people operations infrastructure — including compensation, benefits, HR systems, and compliance. You’ll be the key architect ensuring our HR operations scale effectively to support a fast-growing SaaS organization, balancing process excellence with a great employee experience.You’ll partner closely with People Business Partners, Finance, Legal, and business leaders to drive data-informed people decisions, enhance efficiency, and ensure our people programs are equitable, competitive, and aligned with company goals.
Key Responsibilities
Compensation Strategy and Design
- Own the strategy, design, and administration of global compensation programs, including salary structures, sales compensation design and implementation and bonus plans.
- Develop and manage domestic and international sales compensation strategy for direct sales, channel, BDR’s, SE’s and customer success teams.
- Design incentive plans that align with SaaS business priorities (ARR, renewals, expansion, product adoption, and customer retention).
- Ensure compensation models are fair, competitive, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Partner with Finance, Sales Operations, CPO and leadership to ensure compensation practices are competitive, equitable, and aligned with business objectives.
- Conduct regular market benchmarking and compensation analytics to support data-driven pay decisions.
- Oversee the company’s benefits strategy — evaluating vendors, negotiating renewals, and ensuring compliance and employee satisfaction.
Analytics & Insights
- Provide regular analysis of compensation effectiveness, cost of sales, attainment, and ROI of incentive programs.
- Recommend plan optimizations based on performance trends, market benchmarks, and company strategy.
- Build dashboards and reporting tools to communicate HR analytics and Sales compensation results to executives and sales leaders.
HR Systems (HRIS)
- Lead the strategy, implementation, and optimization of our HRIS and related systems.
- Ensure data integrity, automation, and strong reporting/analytics capabilities to drive insights for business and people decisions.
- Partner cross-functionally to integrate HR technology with payroll, finance, and performance management systems.
People Operations & Compliance
- Build and streamline scalable HR processes across the employee lifecycle — onboarding, offboarding, data management, and compliance.
- Maintain compliance with all employment laws and regulations across operating regions.
- Lead audits, policy reviews, and reporting requirements related to HR operations.
- Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence within the People function.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and mentor a high-performing HR operations team.
- Partner with People Business Partners and Talent teams to ensure seamless delivery of HR programs.
- Serve as a thought partner to the Chief People Officer and executive leadership on people metrics and scalability initiatives.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years leading HR operations, total rewards or sales compensation in a SaaS or technology company.
- Deep expertise in compensation design, benefits administration, and HRIS management.
- Proven ability to design scalable people processes in a high-growth, multi-state or global environment.
- Strong analytical and data skills — able to build and interpret dashboards, reports, and compensation models.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating benefits and technology contracts.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field (Master’s or HR certification preferred).
- Experience with ADP and Workday is preferred.

As a remote first organization, our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The salary range for this remote position is $165,000-$185,000 per year, based on skills, experience and qualifications.
The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate. Exterro is a total compensation company, and this role may be eligible for variable pay, equity, bonus and/or other forms of compensation as part of the package.
