Role Overview


We are hiring a dedicated Senior Product Manager for Distributed Storage Systems to drive improvements to the TiDB distributed storage engine. You will define the strategy and roadmap to deliver a highly available, scalable, secure, and performant database storage platform for customers operating some of the most demanding workloads. You will partner closely with engineering, security, solutions, and GTM teams to scale TiDB globally.

Responsibilities


  • Define and execute the product strategy for TiDB’s distributed storage and scheduling systems, shaping the core foundation of scalability and reliability.
  • Partner with engineering to deliver improvements in performance, elasticity, and cost efficiency across TiDB and TiDB Cloud.
  • Translate customer and system requirements into clear product goals, roadmap priorities, and measurable outcomes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with architects, solution teams, and other PMs to ensure seamless integration across the TiDB ecosystem.
  • Stay ahead of trends in distributed systems, AI-driven infrastructure, and cloud orchestration to guide product innovation.

Qualifications


  • 5+ years of product management experience in distributed systems, databases, or cloud infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of database architecture, including transactions, storage engines, and replication.
  • Hands-on experience with database technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, or others.
  • Proven track record collaborating with engineering teams and driving complex technical initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Familiarity with distributed storage, consensus protocols, or cloud-native systems such as TiKV, PD, or Kubernetes is a plus.

The annual anticipated base salary range for U.S. candidates for this role is USD $150K to $230K. Four zones are applied with different levels of the pay range. More details of the Geo Differential Pay Policy will be discussed during the HR conversation. The actual individual base pay will depend on various factors such as the complexity and responsibility of the role, work locations, job levels, and relevant experience and skills. This role is also eligible to participate in TiDB's Bonus and Equity Plan, as well as our Sales Compensation Plan if it is a sales role.

Please note that actual salaries may vary and fall outside of this range depending on factors such as a candidate's qualifications, geographic location, skills, experience, and competencies.
