Procurement Manager - CAPEX who is responsible for the strategic sourcing, negotiation, and execution of all purchasing activities related to the organization’s significant capital investments. This includes major assets, construction projects, machinery, technology infrastructure, and large-scale equipment. The role’s primary objective is to maximize return on investment (ROI) by ensuring cost efficiency, minimizing risk, and securing timely delivery of high-quality capital goods and services in alignment with project timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Tendering: Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for all CAPEX projects. Manage the entire tendering process (RFI, RFQ, RFP) for high-value capital goods and services, ensuring fairness and transparency.Contract Negotiation: Lead complex commercial negotiations for new equipment, construction contracts, and long-term service agreements, focusing on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), warranty terms, delivery schedules, and payment structures.Stakeholder Alignment: Collaborate closely with Engineering, Operations, IT, and Finance teams to accurately define project scope, technical specifications, and budgetary constraints, ensuring procurement aligns with project milestones.Cost and Risk Management: Conduct detailed financial analysis, value engineering, and risk assessments for all major CAPEX purchases, identifying opportunities for savings and mitigating supplier and contract risks.Supplier Management: Evaluate, qualify, and manage a robust portfolio of local and international CAPEX suppliers and contractors, ensuring performance meets quality, safety, and delivery standards.Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all CAPEX procurement processes and documentation adhere to internal governance, financial controls, and relevant local and international regulatory requirements.Market Intelligence: Monitor global and regional market trends for commodities, materials, and equipment to inform and optimize future capital purchasing strategies.
