About the Role
We’re looking for detail-oriented Spreadsheet Quality Analysts to help build high-quality evaluation data for next-generation spreadsheet AI agents. This position is ideal for someone who has strong Excel skills, loves structured work, and takes pride in precision. You’ll be part of a small, fast-moving team helping define how AI learns to reason through real-world spreadsheet problems.
Note: This is a contract role with hours aligning to 10am-5pm PST.
Responsibilities
- Review and validate spreadsheet tasks for clarity, determinism, and correctness
- Modify input spreadsheets and task statements to enforce consistent outcomes
- Apply a structured 5-step validation process (clarity, function screening, answer validation, correctness, annotation)
- Annotate reasoning for edits and flag low-quality or ambiguous tasks
- Meet weekly quality benchmarks and iterate based on reviewer feedback
Qualifications
- Strong Excel proficiency (INDEX/MATCH, IF, SUMIF, VLOOKUP, etc)
- Excellent written communication and precision
- Experience with structured data tasks or QA/checklist workflows
- Detail-oriented, consistent output under quality guidelines
Bonus
- Prior data annotation experience (Scale AI, Surge AI, Toloka, etc.)
- Experience working in a startup environment
The Details
- Location: Remote!
- Compensation: $15-20 per hour + bonuses based on high quality task completion. Total expected compensation of $25-30 per hour
- Hours: 10am-5pm PST.Additional hours may be requested if needed
