Job Summary
The Foreman is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations on solar installation job sites. This role involves leading a team of solar installers, electricians, and other field workers to ensure that solar systems are installed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications. The Foreman plays a key role in coordinating activities, maintaining safety standards, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring that solar projects are completed on time and within budget. This hands-on position requires strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to solve problems quickly and effectively on-site.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Determines onsite plan of action and makes onsite decisions.
- Direct labor on daily tasks to align with project goals.
- Establishes the level of quality of work onsite.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
- Facilitate internal communications within the team.
- Contact customers upon arrival to provide updates.
- Consults with Construction Manager and/or Licensed Electrician as necessary.
- Notify General Manager or Owner with any emergencies.
- Address customer service issues by communicating with the General Manager or Salesperson.
- Update Trello with project progress.
- Keeps Warehouse Coordinator informed of material, tool, and truck needs.
- Photographs installations and uploads to Drive.
- Preform all job duties assigned to Solar Installer.
Required Skills:
- Technical Skills: Strong mechanical and technical aptitudes, with working knowledge of computer networking, communication systems, electrical distribution system components, and electricity fundamentals, including three-phase power configurations, power calculations, and safety protocols.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Independence: Ability to work independently and take initiative to complete tasks without direction.
- Leadership: Forward-thinking in developing and implementing current and future sales strategies. Proven ability to foster collaboration and build relationships with internal and external partners.
- Communication: Professional communicator adept at engaging with all organizational levels, as well as customers and vendors.
- Quality Focus: Takes pride in their work and practices continuous improvement.
- Influence: Ability to influence and drive results without direct reporting authority.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- 1-3+ years of experience in the solar industry or related field.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role is preferred.
- Familiarity with solar installation processes and project management.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and practices in solar installation.

Salary Range: $59,850.00 - $95,760.00
*This range reflects base pay only. Incentive earnings, like commissions or bonuses, are not included.This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan based on company performance.
