We’re hiring laborers to support concrete and civil work on a wastewater treatment project. You’ll handle hands-on site tasks—rebar, formwork, concrete, and general labor—plus shoot grade with a transit/laser to keep crews on line and elevation. Requirements
- Tie rebar, set forms to line/grade, place/finish concrete, strip forms, patch/cleanup.
- Shoot grade with a transit/laser level, read stakes, pull tape, and communicate cut/fill to operators and carpenters.
- Move/load materials and small equipment; hand digging/backfilling; housekeeping.
- Retrieve and stage tools/consumables; set barriers/signage; spot/flag equipment; basic traffic control inside the site.
- Serve fire watch/standby during hot work; follow PPE, LOTO, and site procedures.
- Follow direction from the supervisor/journeyman and report issues promptly.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Proven concrete & rebar skills (tying, form setting, assisting with pours/finishing).
- Ability to shoot grade with transit/laser and understand basic layout/grade stakes.
- Safe use of hand/power tools; material handling and basic rigging awareness.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and team communication; follows directions precisely.
- Safety-first mindset; understands working around heavy equipment and open excavations.
Required Experience & Education
- 2+ years experience of labor experience on civil/utility or industrial sites (wastewater a plus).
- Experience assisting concrete crews and rebar installation.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to reach with arms and use tools above/over the head.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements.
- Ability to stand (for extended periods of time), walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl and twist.
- Ability to sit, balance and climb ladders, scaffolds and other objects.
- Ability to move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areas.
- Ability to distinguish colors.
