The Mobility Engineer will provide support for an Agency (Police “Department”) of approximately 3,200 users. The Mobility Engineer will provide technical leadership for Mobile device administration consisting of an enterprise smartphone deployment of approximately 3200+ iPhones with an on-premises Air Watch Mobile Device Management solution.This role requires collaboration with federal program managers, agency staff, contracting officers, and multi-disciplinary development teams.
The Mobility Engineer will technical leadership on major Wireless initiatives and establishes goals and plans that meet program/project objectives. The Senior Lead Mobility Engineer will plan and lead major technology assignments, evaluate performance results and recommend major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.
Role Specific Duties/ Role Responsibilities:
- The Mobility Engineer will function as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
- This position performs systems engineering throughout the entire system life cycle to support data center modernization.
- Develops understanding of customer's organization, goals, business needs, and enterprise mobile architectures and systems. Establishes system development and integration methodologies and standards such as the ELCM.
- Develops system architectures that adhere to the Enterprise Mobile Architecture. Develops user requirements and ensures that business solutions are consistent with client strategic goals and investment decisions.
- Employs best practice processes in the design, development, integration, and implementation of mobile systems. Apply business process improvement practices to reengineer business processes, principles, and methodologies.
- Implements state-of-the-practice mobile technology in the client environment, using leading-edge approaches, concepts, and ideas. Researches and evaluates mobile system designs to select appropriate technology and ensure efficient use of resources.
- The Senior Lead Mobility Engineer will be expected to supervise others.
- The Mobility Engineer is required to be onsite at the Fairchild Building in downtown Washington, DC three (3) days per week.
Required Qualifications:
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering, Information Systems, Business, or other relevant discipline
- Have a minimum of 8 years’ experience in the related area as an individual contributor
- Possess base-level certification, such as VMware AirWatch Academy Certification, A+, Security+, or Network+
Additional Requirements as per contract/client (Optional or Preferred):
- Candidates must be a U.S. citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for 3 years and be Federal Tax compliant.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder briefings, technical documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
