Summary


We’re looking for a Project Accountant with 3+ years of experience to support our growing finance function. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable working across multiple systems, and can serve as the first line of review before financial statements go to leadership. You’ll play a key role in managing the integrity of the general ledger, supporting project-level accounting, and delivering accurate, insightful reporting that supports business decisions.

The ideal candidate has sharp attention to detail, knows when to ask clarifying questions, and enjoys working both independently and collaboratively. This role is full-time located in Atlanta, GA.

What You'll Do:


  • Own the monthly close process and prepare journal entries, accruals, account reviews and balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Track and reconcile project-level costs, labor allocations, and vendor activity.
  • Support vendor and customer workflows including expense reports, A/P, and A/R processes.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyze trends in project revenue, expenses, and margins, providing insights to help guide decision-making.
  • Proactively raise questions or inconsistencies to ensure clarity and accuracy in reporting.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other teams to ensure project costs and revenue are accurately captured.
  • Support financial reporting and review, annual audit, and tax return preparation.
  • Other ad hoc projects as assigned.

What We'll Love About You:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
  • Experience using multiple financial and non-financial systems (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Concur, PipeDrive, Monday, Slack, Looker Studio, etc.).
  • Proven ability to perform high-quality, detailed work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills; ability to work with large data sets.
  • Project accounting experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable asking questions, flagging issues, and contributing to process improvements.
  • Mindset for continuous improvement - you’re always learning and looking for a better way to do things.
  • The ability to connect the dots across data and systems.
  • A natural curiosity and a collaborative spirit.
  • Accountability - you take ownership and pride in your work.
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
