You will work collaboratively with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to set up, develop, and maintain high availability architecture for a modern application. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who is passionate about cloud services tools, system monitoring, and cloud security. This role is contingent on award and successful MRPT clearance. 

Responsibilities: 


  • Works with engineering team to develop, implement, optimize, and maintain cloud-based solutions. 
  • Responsible for deploying and debugging cloud stacks, coordinating with teams on cloud initiatives, and ensuring the security of the cloud infrastructure. 
  • Implementation and administrative (patching/maintenance/configuration etc.) support to all AWS services, addressing issues, and supporting activities needed to maintain the Cloud AWS environment, such as user access/security/release/schedules management. 
  • Manages cloud-based infrastructure (IaC) and services, using industry leading practices (automation techniques) to assure smooth application integration across the entire architecture. 
  • Implements and administers a CICD (Devops) pipeline for all systems, software, services, and infrastructure i.e. any project deliverables adopting hyper-automation techniques and mindset. 
  • Uses quality and security gates to manage CICD pipeline decision points to proceed from start to finish. 
  • Troubleshoot identity management and authentication issues and provide resolution. 
  • Ensures smooth operation of all systems, services, software and infrastructure through appropriate management, patching, preventative maintenance, monitoring, alerting, and real-time remediation of any discovered issues. 
  • Serves as the engineer of complex technology implementations in a product-centric environment. 
  • Conducts research, designs, and creates prototypes of new solutions to facilitate application growth and a seamless customer experience. 
  • Identifies weaknesses in our tooling that will drive changes to the overall architecture, and work as a liaison to development, operations teams, and other stakeholder groups. 
  • Works tirelessly to arm developers with the best tools and ensure system uptime and performance. 
  • Works as part of an integrated project agile team, supporting daily operational incidents, change, and problem management cases. 
  • Provides on-call support, develops full production support processes, documentation, and operations plan, including monitoring/alerting solutions. 
  • Provides user access/security/release/schedules management. 
  • Follows established Industry/Agency standards for implementing Cloud configurations, Architecture and Security. 

Requirements

Required Qualifications: 


  • Two (2) years of professional experience in a related role. 
  • Must have related experience for government, as a contractor or government employee. Direct experience with the Department of State is a plus. 
  • Must be a United States citizen.  
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and currently reside in the United States. 
  • Experience in Administrating and Securing Cloud environments, such as AWS. 
  • Experience using Gitlab and CI/CD platforms to deliver safe releases at a rapid rate. 
  • Knowledge of Cloud components such as DevOps scripts, S3 access management, and application configuration. 
  • Knowledge of Cloud tools and platforms such as Redis, K8s, Terraform, and Docker. 
  • Excellent investigative skills to find root cause for e.g. AWS Cloud problems, and unique problems that may extend beyond the typical DevOps arena, to perform impact analysis and/or solutions. 
  • Experience with Atlassian Jira/Confluence. 
  • Strong documentation and problem-solving skills.   
  • Strong verbal and nonverbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to identify and create detailed requirements. 
  • Comfortable with bridging the gap between legacy development or operations teams and working toward a shared culture and vision. 

Working Environment:


eSimplicity supports a remote work environment operating within the Eastern time zone so we can work with and respond to our government clients. Expected hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern unless otherwise directed by your manager. Occasional travel for training and project meetings. It is estimated to be less than 5% per year.
