MBL Technologies is seeking a Security Infrastructure Support Team Lead to provide technical leadership and oversight for enterprise cybersecurity operations within a hybrid IT environment. The successful candidate will lead technical teams, manage projects, and ensure the secure design, implementation, and operation of infrastructure systems in compliance with federal cybersecurity standards. This role requires extensive experience in IT and security engineering, strong leadership skills, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical teams and executive stakeholders.

 

This role is mostly remote; however, it will require occasional onsite meetings in the Bethesda, MD area. With no travel reimbursements allocated. This role is contingent based on contract award.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead and mentor a technical team supporting security infrastructure operations, vulnerability remediation, and incident response.
  • Manage projects, allocate resources, and provide technical guidance to ensure tasks align with organizational objectives and SLAs.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, third-party vendors, and federal stakeholders to execute security initiatives effectively.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, performance metrics, and reporting mechanisms aligned with KPIs and compliance requirements.
  • Provide executive-level briefings and reporting on security posture, project status, and risk mitigation activities.
  • Oversee hybrid IT environments (on-premises and cloud) including Windows/Linux servers, network appliances, endpoints, and cloud services (AWS, Azure, O365).
  • Ensure secure configuration, patch management, and vulnerability remediation across all systems.
  • Manage enterprise cybersecurity tools including Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms and integrations with data pipelines for comprehensive monitoring.
  • Apply DevSecOps practices to ensure secure coding, automated testing, and secure deployment processes are integrated into operational workflows.
  • Lead incident response, POA&M resolution, and continuous monitoring activities to ensure a robust cybersecurity posture.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with cloud security concepts, operations, migration, hardening, and cost optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity frameworks and directives, including FISMA, NIST 800-53, NIST 800-92, OMB M-21-31, and CDM.
  • Conduct technical risk analyses to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities and system weaknesses.

Required Qualifications / Skills:


  • 10+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years in security engineering and 5+ years in a lead or management role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing hybrid IT infrastructures (on-premises and cloud).
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, O365, including security hardening, migration, and operational best practices.
  • Experience managing SIEM platforms, integrating data pipelines, and monitoring enterprise environments.
  • Strong knowledge of federal cybersecurity compliance frameworks (FISMA, NIST SP 800-53/800-92, OMB M-21-31, CDM).
  • Solid background in infrastructure management, patching, vulnerability remediation, and endpoint security.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Proven experience engaging with federal leadership, CSOCs, and compliance offices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and executive reporting.

Preferred Qualifications / Skills:


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • PMP certification or equivalent project management experience.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and secure automation processes.
  • Hands-on experience coordinating with third-party vendors and cross-functional teams in federal environments.
  • Prior experience leading incident response and vulnerability remediation in large-scale federal or enterprise infrastructures.
