Data Scientist

Base Pay Range: $92,000 - $110,000/annually

Essential job functions:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and identify opportunities for optimization using data-driven methods
• Develop and implement analytical models and algorithms using programming languages such as Python or R
• Design, develop, and deploy AI solutions (e.g., natural language processing, computer vision, or recommendation systems) to address complex business problems and drive innovation.
• Monitor and model behavior and characteristics of business processes within the organization.
• Develop predictive models utilizing machine learning  and statistical analysis methods such as classification, time-series analysis, regression, statistical inference, and validation tools.
• Perform exploratory data analyses, generate and test working hypotheses, prepare and analyze historical data, and identify patterns.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders through clear and effective data visualizations and presentations
• Provide daily, weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reporting and analysis to Business Partners and Senior Leaders
• Identify gaps in our data and analyses; collaborate with developers to capture necessary data to drive continuous improvement
• Create sustainable reporting and analysis solutions to support the company’s initiatives
• Develop and maintain Operations BI dashboards and underlying data sources
• Complete ad-hoc analyses and queries as necessary
• Liaison with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the implementation of solutions and driving projects to completion.

Minimum Job Requirements

• Master's degree in a related field such as mathematics, computer science, or engineering or relevant equivalent experience (2+ years)
• Experience manipulating large data sets in Python and/or SQL.
• Experience using data analysis and visualization tools such as Python or R and platforms such as Snowflake and PowerBI
• Experience with machine learning algorithms and their applications in operations research
• Experience with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn, and the ability to train, evaluate, and optimize machine learning models.
• Experience using data visualization (e.g. tables, charts, graphs) to represent analyses to an executive audience for the purpose of refining and influencing strategic initiatives.
• Experience with optimization software such as Gurobi
• Experience working with multiple data sources to generate insights from analyses and create effective reporting solutions

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• Strong understanding of experience with optimization techniques such as linear programming, integer programming, or heuristics
• Strong analytical ability, including the ability to gather, analyze and evaluate information and to translate concepts into financial / operational models
• Detail-oriented with the ability to draw insights from analyses
• Passion for business and driving results
• Strong communications skills in a digital and global environment

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

• Ability to sit for long periods of time.
• Talking through the computer for many meetings and one-to-one conversations
• Continuous viewing of a computer monitor and data entry.
• Travel as necessary (<10%).
