POSITION TITLE:
Transportation Assistant
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
This position reports directly to Transportation Manager
Primary Purpose
The Transportation Assistant provides administrative support to the Transportation Manager and facilitate the efficient operation of the transportation department.
Essential Functions
· Ability to plan for crew mobes.· Assist Transportation Manager with any assigned tasks.· Assist in transportation services occasionally.· Familiar with Microsoft Office, specifically outlook and excel.· Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.· Excellent interpersonal skills.· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.· Problem-solving skills.· Willing to take calls after normal working hours.· Willing to work late if needed to complete assigned task.
Physical Requirements
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.· Ability to operate a motor vehicle.· Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Job Requirements
· Maintain a valid driver’s license.· Must be able to pass motor vehicle records (MVR) check.· Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.· Must be able to pass background check.
Experience and Education:
· High school education· Some experience as an Office Assistant
Tools and Equipment Used
· Office equipment.
Environmental Conditions
Most of the work is done in an office environment.Gulf Island will not sponsor applications for work visas.
