POSITION DESCRIPTION


The Manager - Accounts Payable serves as the strategic and operational leader for the company’s global Accounts Payable (AP) function. This role oversees day-to-day AP activities for the organization through its shared services model, inclusive of corporate headquarters and international subsidiaries, to ensure compliance with global tax regulations, including VAT and GST, and adherence to company policies. The Manager – Accounts Payable is responsible for driving automation, scalability, and process excellence across the AP function through short-term and long-term directional strategy and prioritization.

This includes managing vendor relationships, optimizing cash flow, and partnering with stakeholders across the organization. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership skills to deliver operational efficiency, compliance, and exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders. Positions reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager:

  • Sr. Accounts Payable Coordinators
  • Accounts Payable Coordinator

POSITION REQUIREMENTS


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, related field or equivalent work experience. 
  • At least five years of progressive AP experience, including at least three years in a leadership role within a Shared Services or multinational environment.  
  • Familiarization with sales tax, VAT and GST.  
  • Proven ability to lead change initiatives and implement process improvements.  
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with an ability to learn other related software as required. 
  • Ability to supervise employees, including communicating to staff performance expectations, and to provide performance feedback and reviews. 
  • Ability to apply analytical thinking and ability to communicate this thinking to others in an understandable and professional fashion. 
  • Ability to understand and utilize data in decision making. 
  • Ability to organize work and manage several projects simultaneously to meet established deadlines. 
  • Demonstrated fiscal knowledge and responsibility with the ability to operate within budget parameters. 
  • Ability to listen, understand, and respond to external and internal customers’ needs in a timely manner; customer service experience in a service-related industry preferred. 
  • Ability to work the time necessary to complete projects or meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding salary and personnel issues.
